Our fundraising efforts are currently focused on completing, and fitting out, Stage 1 of the Brisbane Circus Centre.
The Brisbane Circus Centre is a unique, purpose-built circus space to support communities and Queensland’s circus artists.
Once complete, it will help us expand our programs, engage with communities, and support artists and companies.
We believe circus provides a unique opportunity for young people to show off, take risks, trust, dream and aspire, work hard, laugh and have fun.
Flipside is committed to providing opportunities for young people to access the benefits of circus programs regardless of their circumstances.
Your donation will help us create a specialist circus training and presentation space that will support over 35,000 children and young people, 1,000 artists, and will be visited by around 110,000 people each year.
The new circus centre will help Flipside deliver our core programs:
• Regular classes and training at the centre and right across Queensland (including around 10,000 young participants in regional and remote Queensland);
• An artistic program of performances by, for, and with young people;
• Community and social circus programs;
• Support for Queensland’s world-beating circus artists and independent companies.
Our partners and supporters have helped us raise the majority of these funds.
Flipside is now raising the final $220,000 to complete Stage 1, we have raised $123,186.31 so far.
Every donation brings us closer to a new home, a space for children and young people, and a space to support circus artists.
Flipside fills a fundamental and necessary role in this industry that allows the propagation of new emerging artists, new art, and new ideas.
Having a purpose built dedicated space of their own is key to their growth and I believe vital to the sectors growth also.

From the age of 10 through to even now as a 24-year-old professional circus performer Flipside has always been the organisation to support me. I have performed on stages all around the world representing Queensland artists globally and am still reliant on it now for my career.

Specialist spaces to make quality contemporary circus shows are difficult to come by.
Spaces like Flipside gives us independent artists the ability to train, create and make work.
Having a base or a creative home like Flipside has given Casus the ability to create freely. Proudly much of our work that was born in Flipside grace stages all around the world.
