“An extravagant sundae of circus. Impressive… wonderful and well-crafted.” – Creative Futures
SPF – Summer Play Factor is a buoyant, fun-filled circus show for families that combines a live DJ, amazing circus skills, dance and infectious energy.
Cheekily playing with Australian traditions and identity, SPF’s young performers interrogate who we are, who we think we are, and where we are going.
The show is a series of interconnected chapters that explore notions of Australian identity through summer tropes – surfboard acrobatics, ice-cream juggle routines, beach cricket and inflatables together to create a colourful summer smoothie of circus fun.
“A wonderful summer inspired production by a group of talented young performers, delivering a vibrant high-energy show.” – HOTA
Created by a team of highly skilled young circus performers and professional artists SPF premiered at the January 2021 Gold Coast Home of The Arts (HOTA) Scoop festival. A perfect fit, as Scoop was promoted as ‘…everything you love about summer in one sweet weekend,’ with ‘Australia’s best Circus companies premiering new works specially created for outdoor and pop-up spaces.’
