Flipside Circus is a not-for-profit community organisation, it can trace its beginnings to a group of dedicated families and circus artists who got together to run community based circus workshops. Our first workshops were held under a tree in West End’s Orleigh Park and the organisation was formally incorporated in 1998.
For 20 years Flipside has grown and developed all the while maintaining our strong commitment to delivering child-centred circus opportunities to young people regardless of their background or circumstances.
Along the way we have helped to train generations of professional circus artists, worked with world leading trainers, and became Queensland’s largest youth arts organisation.
There are many ways for you to support Flipside Circus in our vision to deliver the highest quality child-centred foundational circus training and performance opportunities, to the most diverse range of young people regardless of their circumstances through our community programs.
Stand shoulder to shoulder with us to fund long-term social circus programs.

join the mailing listFlipside Circus a great organisation teaching gymnastic skills in a fun and nurturing way. Taking in age groups from the very young to the fully grown, physical and mental confidence is encouraged and developed using circus performance skills and acts. This approach is particularly embraced by the youngest members (pre-high school). A great community atmosphere which embraces students, instructors, other staff, parents, family and friends. Highly recommended for children seeking something physically different and less competitive then other team sports.

It’s a great place, friendly staff and lots of good people about. I attend Adult classes at night and am really enjoying the culture. I’m doing things that I’ve never done before, especially from childhood. From a fitness and core perspective some nights can be intense, but they really cater well to the abilities of the class. My flexibility is woeful but I’m making greater progress than I have in years. A fun way to exercise! They live up to the values listed on their website and I feel they’ve got a lot of integrity.
I recommend it for everybody to at least try once.

Great venue for learning how to be part of a circus!!! The trainers are very friendly and excellent at working with kids of all ages and skills. The kids start off learning basic floor skills, tumbling, cartwheels, jumping, somersaults etc. They then start to learn more advanced skills like trapeze, silk/rope acrobatics, juggling and others. Great overall experience!!
