Flipside is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland, part of the Department of Science, Information Technology, Innovation and the Arts. And the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation who support our annual Social Circus programs in regional and remote communities in Queensland.
Our Social Circus program is recognised internationally and has garnered the support of Cirque du Soleil through their social circus arm, Cirque Du Monde. Each time Cirque du Soleil come to Brisbane, we are given tickets to sell to raise funds for our social circus programs in Australia, with 100% of the profits directly benefiting our aims.
Flipside is fortunate to have an amazing community base support of families and friends who give there time and expertise to the range of programs and events we offer. This grass-roots support really makes Flipside an exceptionally resilient organisation and means that when an opportunity arises we are able to respond quickly and in the best interest of our participants.
We are also supported by many individual and corporate donors who generously give so that Flipside can continue it’s work in providing circus activities to young people.

Flipside Circus has a robust and embedded relationship with Australian contemporary circus artists and our professional standing is demonstrated by an impressive performance and training history that includes major Australian festivals and high-profile events.
We engage guest directors for Flipside’s annual performance. In the past these have included: Tony Rooke, Australian National Circus Festival Director; Scott Maidment, Director of Strut and Fret Production House and Australian circus legend Dr Reg Bolton have all directed shows and performances for Flipside.
Flipside is committed to developing pathways for our students to enter the circus industry as professional artists by ensuring we provide high quality and relevant circus training. We provide opportunities for our students to be mentored by performing artists to encourage and ease the transition into the industry. Many of our training staff are circus performers who are well connected and actively working in the Australian circus industry. This provides our students with extraordinary opportunities and a greater understanding of the industry they are about to enter into. Flipside also engages circus artists that sometime ‘pass’ through Brisbane and whose experience and skill can be utilised while they are here.
