CEO
Deb Wilks
Deb has led the organisation through the cultural change from a small community org to a small to medium company that remains true to its core values.
Providing strategic direction and leadership to an ever-increasing team of staff Deb utilises skills learnt in small business and the corporate sector. Deb believes every child in Queensland should have the opportunity to experience the fun of circus and the enjoyment of a circus show!
Deb has completed a Graduate Diploma of Management in Arts and Culture and is Deputy Chair on the Australian Circus & Physical Theatre Association committee.
Head Trainer and Artistic Associate
Chelsea McGuffin
Chelsea has worked extensively within the circus industry in Australia and internationally for more than 17 years. Originally training in Dance at the Centre for Performing Arts, Adelaide, she moved into circus and worked with companies including Circa, Circus Monoxide, Tony’s Imaginary Circus and Queensland Theatre Company, as well as working as Artistic Director with Vulcana Women’s Circus. She was most recently involved in performing and co creating 'Cantina’, a new Spiegel tent performance, which is now successfully touring the world.
Some of Chelseas's career highlights include:
Training at The Moscow State Circus School training with international clown Angela Decastro
Creating major touring works with CIRCA, which toured internationally (including performances at La Tohu Montreal, Bogotá International Arts festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Opera House Sydney Festival, and tours to Belgium, France, Germany, Canada, UK, Hungary, Romania)
A solo performance 'Regarding the Joy of Others' for the 2009 Brisbane Festival

Jo Volz
Jo Volz has had a 15-year career in administration, sales and management. She has focused predominantly in independent publishing, with two long-term positions at
Time Off
magazine and Brisbane’s
Child
magazine. She manages all Flipside's accounts, invoicing and sales and quotes enquiries.
Events and Facilities Coordinator
Jasmine Whelan
Jasmine Whelan is an event professional with years of experience in the performing arts and hospitality/tourism industries. She has worked in both front and back of house, and has worked with Lady Torpedo, Vulcana Women’s Circus, Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Woodford Folk Festival and Island Vibe Festival. She has travelled nationally and internationally as a fire performer with Carnival of the Divine Imagination.
Marketing
Lauren Howard
Lauren Howard is an emerging arts marketer in Brisbane. She has completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications and Drama at the Queensland University of Technology. She is currently studying a Masters of Creative Industries majoring in Creative Production and Arts Management, also at QUT. Lauren has done freelance marketing and public relations work for a number of arts and not for profit organisations in Brisbane and Ipswich. Most importantly, Lauren is passionate about the performing arts and believes every child should have the opportunity to be creative.
